Fall Creek Family Dentistry
Complete Dental Care for All Ages
Welcome to Fall Creek Family Dentistry...

Fall Creek Family Dentistry was founded in 1996 by Kristna Kapur D.D.S. and Luis T. Mauleon D.D.S. with the vision of creating a dental practice that treats every patient with dignity and first-rate care. The hygienists and office staff at Fall Creek Family Dentistry are highly-trained and exceptionally friendly. We understand that for many, visiting the dentist can be a stressful experience. Our comfortable surroundings and compassionate dental professionals will ease your fears.

Our Mission Statement: Our mission is to help our patients attain the level of total dental health that they desire.  Our role is to render treatment in the kindest and most professional manner possible, and to educate our patients about what is available for their health.  Our role is to discover what level of health the patient desires and to do everything we can to see that the patient attains his or her goal.

ATTENTION FALL CREEK FAMILY DENTISTRY PATIENTS:

Out of concern for your health and well being, Fall Creek Family Dentistry has decided to suspend all routine appointments beginning Monday, March 23, 2020. We anticipate returning soon, and will keep our patients updated regarding  any future changes.

During this time period, Dr. Mauleon and Dr. Kapur will still be available to see patients in case of emergencies, and we will still have a team member in the office to answer your phone calls during regular business hours.

In case of a dental emergency, please contact us at (607)272-8118.

Our office has carefully considered this decision, and the needs of our patients and staff, as well as recommendations by the CDC, ADA, and other health agencies, to practice social distancing to limit the spread of COVID-19. We believe this is the best course of action at this time.

While we will miss serving you during this time, we look forward to emerging from this pandemic in good health and fully focused on the needs of our patients.

When is a Cleaning Not a Standard Cleaning?

It would be great if we all had the time and the dedication required to brush, floss and rinse 3 times a day; but let's get real, that does not always happen.  For this reason, some patients require a more extensive and detailed cleaning than the usual Prophylaxis or "Prophy Cleaning."  On occasion a patient may present with bleeding and inflamed gums caused by an excessive amount of plaque and calculus, or tartar.  The situation may be so bad that the doctor is unable to determine if the patient has Gingivitis or Periodontal Disease. Should this be the case, a procedure know as a "Full Mouth Debridement" may be required.  This gross scaling method allows for the removal of enough tartar and build up for the doctor to make an accurate diagnosis and prescribe an effective treatment plan.  Once the gum tissue has had adequate time to heal and the inflammation to subside, and upon recommendation of the doctor, the hygienist then performs either a standard prophylaxis cleaning, should gingivitis be present, or another slightly more involved procedure known as scaling and root planing, in the presence of periodontal disease.
